planning a fishing trip this weekend to the upper vedder, but its a ways for me so I don't want to go if the river is completely blown up, how is the river looking? dirty? can fising still be productive in muddyish water?
thanks for your time

The Coquitlam is really high. I went to both my spots today but gave up pretty quickly. I also went to the Stave today but didnt get anything. The water was clear there thou. I was fly fishing for Coho.

The vedder should be in perfect condition this Saturday and Sunday morning after all this rain. Hopefully it falls today and Friday. I would hit the mid Vedder; however. It may be too early for upper vedder. Get there at sunrise. With such perfect conditions, I'm sure it will crowd up early.

I was fishing way up the vedder this morning, (ranger run) the water was still really high and pretty coloured. no coho, I got one spring around 15-20lbs. and one jack spring. tonns of zombies floating down the river too. if youre going to fish the vedder this weekend, up top early in the morning is going to be the ticket.

I was in the upper river today. The water is higher than I like for the upper river for the spots I usually fish. It was also extremely busy I couldn't believe how many people are out fishing during the week now - everyone must book off for holidays to fish this river.
I bushwacked into a spot only to be followed shortly after by 3 blokes. I had broken off a leader to a rock; and went to re-tie when these gentlemen literally walked into the exact spot I was fishing and took over. Unbelievable! I would expect that if i was fishing an easy-access crowded area but having taken the time to hike into a spot and be treated like this is really nasty.

I just got back from the vedder and it was a complete gong show, was in the upper Chilliwack area, hiked in off of a logging road (about a 30 minute hike).Caught 1 pink all day, other than that a ton of snags. People on the other side of the river (which you could drive to) would literaly cast across the river and 5 feet in front of me, in turn tangling my line, much to crowded for my liking. Only saw people snagging all day other than a chum hooked and landed aswell as one wild spring. Keep an eye out for bears, lots of them around there right now
