i am going to birkenhead lake for some fishing soon, we will be on a boat, just wondering if anyone has experience fishing this lake and can offer any tips?

Been there dozens of times. Having a boat is a real asset.
Best results I've had were up at the entrance of Sockeye Creek. It's about 1/2 way down the lake on the same side as the boat launch.
Try a bunch of different offerings. I did a review a few weeks back. Remember to release all Bull Trout. There are no Dolly Varden in the lake, so if you think it is a DV, it's a BT.
You can also fish where Phelix Creek enters. You can wade out there and try something in the current.
If you are trolling, try a willow leaf/ford fender with a wedding band/worm or you can try some trout Rapalas. With my sonar, the fish were sitting real low. Like more than 100' low.

Thanks for the tips, we didnt have a downrigger on the boat yet, so i just trolled with a 2 ounce weight and about 6-7' of leader to a fraser river rainbow plug, beautiful lake but got skunked. quiete a ways to come for me about 4 and a half hours, so we missed first bite, werent fishing till about 10 and then it got rough. I did get 3 good strikes within the first 5 minutes but then the lake started to blow a little, didnt see anyone having much success. O well still nice to be fishing
