Hello everyone! I've read some of the forums, and you seem like a very helpful bunch of people. I've done lots of fishing for trout in the interior lakes (mostly trolling), but live in the lower mainland and want to start salmon fishing.

I don't own a boat, so it'd be casting from shore. I'm willing to drive and do a 'mild' hike (about 30 mins or so) to get to a good spot. Can someone suggest a good location(s) to try? I was thinking somewhere around Squamish on one of the rivers, but if its closer to Vancouver that'd be great!

Any tips/suggestions you have for a beginner salmon fisher would also be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

"The Cap mouth will start to pick up for coho soon. Casting spoons and spinners, or a cast streamer fly from Ambelside beach can be excellent at times."
