cagey	Posted: 5/5/2013 11:29:27 AM Reply assuming you have a boat, it is the best time! i'd have to check but I think kokanee are open. for trout you have to go a bit deeper usually, 40 to 60 feet would be a good place to fish. i'd suggest using apex's, spoons like coyotes or bucktails. if trying bucktails , start near the surface and gradually get it down deeper. i lived in Vernon for over 20 years and caught lots of trout on the big lake but haven't fished there in recent years. there are however a few members who might have more to add as they fish Okanagan. an alternative is to try one of the many smaller lakes. some have resorts with rentals. may can be dynamite . dee lake and oyama lk are a couple i can think of (i think oyama has rentals....anyone???) have a great stay!
