the ice is now coming off the "mid-level" lakes in the Thompson/north Okanagan. I live in the area of skimikin, Fleming and Phillips lakes in the chase/tappen area. the ice came off all three this week. I suspect the ice will be off Joyce lake near Falkland by the weekend but pillar will be a bit longer I think (it can go fast if it gets some wind once it starts to open around the edges ). I was hoping to get out today but it poured rain. it will be another week as I have to go visiting a buddy for a few days. it is time to get the fly rods out everyone!
speaking of Phillips lk, did anyone fish there last year?
