hi there everybody ,
just signed up here, and allready have some questions
first of all my name is philip and i live in munich germany
my passion is laketrout fishing and fly fishing in streams in the alps in bavaria .
due to family buissness i'll be in kelowna for 3 weeks over easter , and have some questions on how i can or better where i can go fishing and maybe rent a fishing boot to do so in the area .
if've been to canada several times , and i'd love to go fishing while i'm in the area , i wont have a offroad car so i'll be probably be fishing the bigger lakes .
but heres my question where should i go , where does it make sense to go cause i dont want to spend 3 weeks finding out . i also wont have a boot , cause i sure cant take one on the plane
also what kind of takle should i take ?
my relatives dont fish so they're not really helping me :D i found some fishing guides online but thats almost to much money to be spend for one day i prob. rather buy takle for that
hope u can help me out here , or maybe theres someone here who would show me around in exchange i could offer a free fishing tour in germany .
thanx allready in advance phil

the problem is other than the big lakes right now everything is frozen. to operate a boat you need some boater safety certification which you may have in germany (bring a copy of the boating safety certificate ). i suspect they rent boats in kelowna. as to what to use, the sport shop will sell you what you need. i'm not sure how okanagan lake is right now. further north is shuswap lk. fishing is picking up i am told. i believe you can rent boats at sicamous and fish close by. hopefully someone volunteers to take you out. keep posting here as to what you are doing etc . my partner will have his boat going soon and might be agreeable to taking you out (we'd supply the tackle and everything) but i can't say for sure when he will get it going for the year. this time of year the trout in shuswap lk start biting bucktails and other minnow patern flies fished close to the surface. it can be lots of fun. 6 to 10 pound fish on light tackle is fun.
