I just bought my 2nd fly rod...4-5wt beulah classic switch rod..decided on the elixir 250grain line..its going to be pretty awesome for trout and wicked fun for the pink season...i might be a lil worried about hooking into a summer steel on it while trout fishing..wouldnt want to break it..its a beauty...what do you all use for trout? and for pinks on the beach?

7wt will make a great coho/steelhead rod...oh you'll have fun with pinks on it too..i just missed pink season last year..hit the very end of it..but picked up a few (not too dead) ..it waslots fin even on my 8wt...snagged lots but a few took the fly too..half dead pink were the first fish i caught on the fky..but i dont count them..haha

7 wt is not overkill for pinks.I'd even say preferred.I'm talking about single hander, not switch

I like Mickey Finns.Pink and yellow for fresh water, blue and green for salt.Size 8 or smaller, tied sparse.Big pink rabbit patterns for Fraser and Squamish rivers.

I bought it used..(couple times) for $200...from a moderator on a different forum i use..its in top shape..no marks or blemishes...great lil rod at a price i coulnt pass down..but yes originaly it was bought from nile creek..they go for 395.00 on the beulah site and ebay...I think ive decided against the elixir line and am leaning towards the rio scandi versitip...maybe..lol
