I was at Sayers all day today and not even a nibble I matched the hatch of water skeeters and not a thing...didnt see a rise all day. Trolled the whole lake in a pontoon boat. All the way down the south end to the hatchery and half way back down the middle then fished half of the north/west side back to the put in, and no dice. i tried doc spratleys in 3 different colors and multiple colors in leeches&wooly buggers, fished from 2 rods, one with a type 2 sink line and the other on a dry line thats old so it fished like an intermediate sink tip. totally skunked...not even nibble or tap. im going to try there again for some caddis acion in the end of September. i drove out to Florence lake but didnt fish it and took a look at Morgan and it looked pretty dead. Fish else where unless you like to just go boating with your fishing rods  this lake is super deep too so all the fatties are down where fly lines cant reach. The Caretaker at the hatchery said no one has had any luck there for about a month. Wait for cooler weather when the fish are roaming the shoals.  till then...

Since the fish hatchery was removed from Sayres lake fishing became very slow there. And it may not be just the summer - fishing was not good in the spring either.
This is certainly not a matter of fly selection
