| So the g/f "schooled" me 3-1 on the fish. I had a few bites that I lost because I was focusing on the engine fouling issue and trying to do a mid-trip re&re to get it running again. I should really go to work for a break. She was using a small troll that is about 6" long and made up of just two spinner blades, with a green/pink wedding band with about a #8 hook and pink fake scented maggots. I was using a mini lake troll with a green/pink wedding band with about a #4 hook and using worms up until she had caught 3, then I too switched to the fake maggots and got no more fish but a few nibbles.
Beautiful day on the lake (despite my motor still being a PITA) and enough fish for dinner with my parents. They were thrilled to be eating fresh trout so win-win.
