| Had been cool leading up to the trip, but bloody hot when we got there. Harsh road getting in if your towing anything. Not rough, but lots of small washouts resulting in the hitch being dragged on the road as we negotiated them. Fishing was poor. Got out for about 3 hours the first morning. Nothing moving on the lake at all. Got out for 3 hours that night, and although there was some surface action after 2000, no bites. Nothing the next morning. Did note a large number of backswimmers in the water which struck me as odd for this time of year. Not a lot of other insect activity noted, although there were a fair number of dragonflies around. Tried subsurface with a sinking tip, and topwater.
