wow what a day. as soon as i baited up my hook and casted it out and put it in the rod holder i had the first fish on. wasnt terribly big, around 4 feet, but a good way to start. my buddie got his first one soon after, around the same size. throughout the next 3 hours we had hooked many between us, and landed 8 other sturgeon between 3 and 6 feet. but the last fish that i hooked was a monster. as soon as i hooked it it ran non-stop for about 20 mins. it jumped once and i could see it was a monster, biggest one for me this year (over 8 feet). we chased it up and down and finally got it close to the boat, what a beauty! we had to go through one more run before she tired out, and we beached the boat on a nearby sandbar to land the fish. as soon as it got close to shore it jumped once more, spitting the hook out!. i could not believe it! sooo close. we fought it for around an hour. but it was a very fun day and hooking a fish that big was a blast. get out there! tight lines
