| OMG what a day!!! Got on the water at 8am. Hooked first 'bow(14") within the first 2 minutes on the water. The fishing was off the hook, non stop hits, and hookups. Talking to some locals on their paddle-boards, they said there was a huge black ant hatch on Saturday. Not much showing of them on Sunday.
Then as we saw the clouds sinking down the mountain, the wind disappeared, the lake went flat and the black ant hatch happened. It looked like someone flipped a switch and all the fish started feeding on the surface. I was already working the black ant on a floating line and i couldn't keep them off.
Then the wind picked up, spawning whitecaps so we got off the lake for a bit. Some thunder, little sprinkle, then it passed to blue skies again. Fishing was slower, but then it picked up. I didn't get into anything more than about 16", but my buddy had back to back cutties about 20-22". Good thing as I dragged him up there. He was also into about 30 fish. He was so pumped after the day.
We packed it in about 18:30 as the wind picked up nasty, and just before torrential rain.
