I am looking at purchasing a new fly rod that I would beable to use for stealheading, and various salmon fishing in and around the vedder, also I am origianlly from Saskatchewan and would love a rod I could use as well for good pike fishing, I have a 6wt St. Croix Legend Ultra and was wondering if I should buy a 8wt or a 9wt and any suggestions on the rod and reel I should be looking at??

Id go with an 8wt myself...

As for what you should buy... that depends on your casting style/ability etc... too many variables to list.. I suggest test casting rods if you are looking to plunk down some sizable doe.

I have a Protac 9 FT 9 WT flyrod with reel and line everything is brandnew never been used bought all of it for around 160.00 i brought it home then ended up never useing it and it would be good for steelhead and all salmon anyway im asking 100.00 for all of it also has full sinking line with a tapered leader on it here is my email addy abucci@shaw.ca if your interested i live in langley

Flying it for Steelies, Salmon and Pike, eh? 8wt, no questons. I usggest a Temple Fork Outfitters Lefty Kreh signature series. They are great quality, Rods that are economicaly price (around 130, even for the Kreh models!).
The warranty is like this: you break it, the piece broken is replaced for $25 dollars. But how did you break it, you ask? It don't matter. You can lean it up against a stump, jump on it on purpose, they'll replace it. its the best warranty in the industry.
Also, i Suggest the Leeda real by British Fly Reels that match. Its a casette reel, so you can use what ever line neccesary for the conditions, just pop one line out, and in goes another. Its got a good disc drag too. It is econmicaly priced condisdering its a good reel.

-Tight lines!
