What kind of reel, rod, fishing line and method need to catch some salmons in Fraser valley?

Depends where your fishing! Some waters are fly fishing only. A fairly hefty rod from about 9' to 12'(graphite preffered depending on your budget), will cover most situations. Fast action is preferred, unless your downrigging. You'll need a heavy rod for the fast current big fish situations. A good level wind reel that will hold at least 300 yards of 15 lb. test will do the trick although some prefer other reel types. The heavier rod will also work for bar fishing(casting out the heavy rigs involved). There is no ideal rod for all situations although this type of combination will fit many. Go to a reputable tackle store for professional advice!
