Author Topic: Fishing Near Whistler

My husband and I are heading out to whistler area to fish tomorrow afternoon. Staying out all day tues and comming back on wednesday morning. I am wondering the best places to try fishing, both lake, stream and river. I don't own fly fishing equiptment so its going to be spin casting. I'm contemplating a belly boat, but not sure if thats a good idea? Would hip waders serve me better?

Alta Lake (large cutties), Alpha Lake (rainbows), Green Lake (cutties, kokanee, dollies), Callaghan Lake (small rainbows) - all are great at this time of the year.

Thanks for the replies!

I ended up going to Brome lake near Alice. Fishing was good, but trout were small. 7inch or so. Fun to catch all the same. Fishing at Alice lake was /crap/ I Had no luck there at all. I also fished the river some, which was a blast.

Met a local while in Squamish getting supplies, and he took us to his fishing hole. And taught me to use a bobber, and worms in a river. An experience all in itself. Was great

hey, i fished green lake a few years back and it was pretty good there, i caught a few pretty big trout. sorry for the late reply haha

We are also going to Whistler next month, and my young son would love to fish...where is Brone Lake, is it near Whistler, can't find it on the internet

BOBBER AND WORM IN THE RIVER?! The Squamish River and its tributaries has a bait ban which is in effect year round. Now, just exactly which river were you using bait in?

Hey, Green Lake kicks. Go to Nicklaus North Golf Course. Pakr there, take the trail that goes right. It will take you to this little sandy part with a river that runs out. fish the mouth with a light set up, and use a little gold spoon with two split shots. Gauranteed fish.
