I've got no idea how to tie weights, I mean I've done it before but I dont know how close to the hook, etc. Is there a website out there that can explain all this for me? I'm going to be fishing from a boat in a lake for smallmouth bass (st. mary lake)
Im going to go buy accessories soon and would also like to know what kind of hooks I need, etc.. I dont really know what I'll be shopping for yet

Tackle, you'll be buying tackle soon....

If you go to a reputable shop like Jaymers and tell them you dont know how to set up your stuff, they'll be more than happy to show you how and give you a bunch of pointers... actually any good shop should be happy to show you whats what.... they want you to come back right?

if they dont then dont shop there

Buy the above book-available at any Lower Mainland tackle shop-all the knowledge you need to rig for fishing locally as it's written by a guy from Burnaby.
It's a format that's easy to use and comes in a waterproof case.

Alright thanks for all the input guys, I'm going to 3vets either today or tommorow, hopefully they can help get me set up. I got a fishing book yesterday for my birthday and it has all these handy tips, exactly what I need. I might post some pictures later of my fishing rod and tackle and see what you guys think of it..its probably crap, I got the rod about 6 years ago and only started to want to become serious about fishing a month ago, so I dunno..
