Author Topic: Saturday fishing in Fraser from shore was slow

We were fishing below the pipeline (Chawathil bar) and seen only 4 fish for the most part of the day. People that been fishing Haig Scale Bar said the water was too high and it was difficult to fish even if you cast very far. They mentioned couple fish being landed.

And Laidlaw (Gold Dredge Bar) also seems to be slow with just couple fish landed as mentioned by the people, who were leaving the place.

That's in brief.

We fished from the boat at Grassy bar last night and it was slow as well. We saw only 3 or 4 fish landed and there was alot of boats out there. So who knows where the springs are now.

Nets were out in the Fraser since Friday evening. This week should be good with levels peaking, then the drop and clear. Bar fishing will be deadly.

Good thing I stuck to the you know if these were native or comercial nets and the area which was open. Any heads up on other openings coming down the pipeline?

PS thanks for this post and any furhter reply...this is the type of quality/useful info I am looking for (some of you will get what I mean )

Got Some strange news when i went out to island 22, apparently the last bit of the island washed away and they lost around 10 to 15 camping sites, , the island has cracks running through it so they have condemd the last bit and there is no bar fishing there any more, but the boat launch is still operational, just thought i'd let you know, i went down the road abit from island 22 and fished from shore, no one brought anything in out of lik 10 or so people water was really high and merky, one other thing, i was watching discovery channel last night and apparently there is alot of sturgon poaching going on, so keep your eyes out for suspicous looking folk, DFO officers have been finding sturgeon heads on the shores latley, it is supposed to be "orginized crime groups" taking the eggs over seas into europe and asia

Well gotta go

Checked out Island 22 as well. There is a gatekeeper stationed. You cannot even go in to look around unless you pay $2.14 for parking.
surgeon sturgeon

you know the sturgeon fishing has been extremely slow this year compared to the last 3 years.not just little bit slow in comparison either.
