I hear all you chatting about depths and hoe different fish are at different depths, how do I figure out hoe deep the water is where I am fishing ..I am new to flyfishing and currently fish from a belly boat with a sinking tip line at Buntzen lake

firstly learn how to spell "how"...it's not "hoe" ...haha. peaceout.

If you fish from a belly boat, you should have an anchor. Mark off your anchor rope in 5'foot incraments. As you lower your anchor count the markings. When the anchor hits bottom and you have passed 4 markings you can calculate your depth. (4 markings x 5'each = 20' of water).

Good Luck
