bobo	Posted: 6/14/2004 11:28:51 AM Reply Fishing L. of the Woods for the first time in Aug. Not sure exactly where just yet, havent seent the info sheet. Just wondering about color selection (Musky & Northern only). Ive also been advised to leave my boat at home and use a rental, something i probably wont do. Is water depth that much of an issue (I'm already looking for maps of the lake).
blaydRnr	Posted: 6/14/2004 12:53:21 PM Reply we all lack knowledge, in one aspect or another, so no need to be so apologetic. the best people to learn from, are the locals. they can tell you exactly where to fish and what techniques works best. as far as l. of the woods, i have never fished there, but i do know that one of the reasons why people choose to rent boats, is because of the problems with milfoil weeds and ferrel mussels that infests heavily used lakes, back east. it just helps to contain them and prevent further spreading of their species. and yes water depth is an issue because fish will hold where oxygen levels are highest and where the temperatures best suit them (and their prey). the seasons and also spawning will determine where the fish lay and how aggressive they will be.
