well Tunkwa was a bid dissapointment, the water was muddy, the wind was rediculous! got about 5 hours of fishing in the typhoon, and caught 2, 4 pounders on a green chironomid. overall i was surprised by the bad water clarity and lack of visibility, it made the fishing tough. went to afavorite little lake in priceton though and slayed'em, made up for the rough fishin' at Tunkwa.

Next time put a hot shot 70 frog patern on fast sinking line 10' 8 Lb leader, trolling with wind at slowest speed that allows action on lure anywhere in the lake, let out half fly line mid day and all plus 20' of backing evening. You may want to change to single hook for easier release. We caught 9 in boat and never mind the ones that got away. Smallest around one Lb.largest over 4Lb and Ave 2.5. This works all year. Fly fishing still holds my heart but sometimes Tunkwa can be a bitch and I need to catch fish now & then. Tunkwa has some nice fighting fish. Busy lake that always produces nice fish in my limited experance.

tunkwa lake might look muddy and dirty but that is the just the top layer of the lake. They do get a pretty bad algea bloom in hot weather conditions. But below the surface the water is pretty clear.
