Sockeye in the Somass river that flows into the Alberni inlet right by town.Indians have there nets out and guys are flossing them.Yes I know flossing is not fishing so don't bother,we already went through this.Apparently they have been doing well and you can call the marina over there for an update.Its a one hour drive from the ferry terminal.

Ya, I fished it once on my way to tofino. Nice little river, fished below the dam (paper mill dam i think) and did relatively well. These guys take turns casting...not like the veddr or fraser were you just fling it out there. You wait for you turn to cast, sop watch what the locals do and try to fit in!

Fishing probably would have been a lot better but the natives were seining the pool right below the run we were fishing.
