How is crab fishing at this time around Vancouver? What are the best spots?

there are some good spots but fishing pressure is heavy. Each summer someone is busted coming out of a park late at night with a cooler full of undersized crabs too so there are plenty of issues in that arena. I havent crab fished indian arm in years (so check your regs) but bedwell bay used to be packed with large dungeoness!

yeah its still good at the mouth of indian arm.

Tsawwassen, along the road to Ferries - great weedy shoal, but crab fishing is different there. Instead of dropping a trap people actually wade on the low tide. Water is clear so you can easily spot the target and even estimate the size. Then you either pick it up with a hand (if it is not too deep) or use a net with a long handle.

Once I tried to use a pontoon boat and it worked well, as you can cover large area, see well around, plus getting in/out is very easy on a pontoon. Net will help even further. Regular boats are not very effective as it is a very shallow place and there are lots of weeds.
