Author Topic: chehalis steelhead

I am going out to chehalis canyon tomorrow to try and catch some summer steelhead, or whatevers there resident cutties or whatever! any advice for fishing that river???

thanks alot!

Pink/purple jigs. Not much rain so don't expect too much.Don't leave any valuables in your wheels.Blues burger at the Sasquatch after.BE SAFE !

With the water clarity being excellent, be very wary of going too close to the waters edge to start your fishing, the fish will spook super easy and you'll have basically wasted your time. Not always but........

I'd be throwing as little weight as I could get away with and as small a presentation as I could. Perfect time to use the Fluorocarbon leader too.

Try simple egg patterns, slow motion blades and maybe even a good ol' gooey bob with a tuft of white wool on top.

My take is dark day = dark fly, bright day = bright fly, I tend to do the same with gear but to each his own too.

Good luck and tell us how ya did.
