Nice photo's Big Dan. Looks like that tub is adequate for two big guys. Keep at it, you'll get it dialed in. A good day on the lake with your son is one of the best parts about fishing anyhow.

Nice pictures! A fishfinder would be handy too especialy if using a downrigger, you can get a hummingbird FF for under a hundred bucks. What happened to stave...did you find it too busy? It's usualy packed on long weekends. Anyways; looks like the infatable is working good for you

Hi Chris, Stave was a bit big for my first try with this inflatable, but its on my mind for sure. Also I would like to try Murphy lakes off the Coquhalla, but I'm not sure if its an easy access from the road to the lakes itself with this boat.Still waiting for news on that with a previous post.In regards to the fish finder I much appreciate your info,as a matter a fact I'm going to buy a few Scotty rubber glued on mounts to put on the boat this way I can add rod holders etc including a fish finder and a down rigger. Keep in touch, maybe one day we will meet up! Cheers

Buy a portable FF. I think the Hummingbird 160 portable is on sale at Steveston Marine right now for $139. I know the Langley store has them and their a great little unit for the price.
The portables are the best for small watercraft IMO, you can basically put them anywhere in the boat, this way if your by yourself you might want it in a different spot etc etc, and when you go in you can just take the transducer off and pack it back to camp, vwalla !!
For the bigger boats like run-a-bouts and such the fixed FF'ers are more of a common commodity.
cut and paste this Dan then have a look, this is from Crappy tire, it was easier to find.

You could pay a few dollars more for a portable FF; they are self contained with their own battery pack and the transducer sticks on the side/back just below the water line with a suction cup.
I started with one of these, but ended up powerering it from the trolling motor battery when the battery pack died. Then I ended up using a fixed transducer mount when I found the suction cup thing a pain.
I think it was "beerdrinker" who posted photos of his set up mounted on his Nucanoe, with the transducer mounted on a pole or something. Type in Nucanoe in the search feature here, it might give you some ideas.
I use two hand crank downriggers on my 12' aluminum and the FF is a great tool for finding the right depth.
Yes, I'm sure we will meet up one day

Perfect Dan, it's all ya need. I don't know if you have a suitable place for the suction cup on your inflatable or not but if you run into trouble mounting it you can always mount the transducer onto a piece of wood and then use a clamp to hold into place, Idunno ??
This is what I do on my 12 ft aluminum, I found the suction cup on the hull would move on me now and then, plus this way it's easier to take off when running full tilt too. I don't think you have to worry about that right now though, lol.

This gives you an idea, off goes the clamp, in comes the transducer and away I go.

I like that! The sales rep has a tub like mine and told me it will stick and stay in place with no problems... Lets wait and see

Where the lake empties itself into that large stream? near the entrance of the park?

Your right,
It is unlawful to ,
Use more than one fishing line, EXCEPT a person who is alone in a boat on a lake may angle with two lines.
Straight from the regs.

Well I'd give hime the benifit of doubt, because although I see three rods: I don't see three lines in the water. I carry extra rods when trolling, because sometimes I may stop to spincast or flyfish for a bit.

Ok, missed that lol.

Hi guy's...I had a few extra lines with me just in case something happens....But only two lines were in the lake at all times. Thanks anyways!
