Would be until you get a monster on their i use a 11'6 shimano technium, abu 6601 c4,65lb yellow braided with 40lb leader just to make sure. With this current i am using a 5oz B.B too and a 12ft leader you want it to sit on the bottom and swirl around in the current.

Should be enough, i was wondering about that myself with my 10'6" lamiglas certified pro blank that i made cause i made it for drifting on the vedder. Although since i broke my rod i used it there. It has a 10-20lbs weight as well. Worked well although i didn't hook anything over 14lbs
