Can anyone tell me when the lakes around Mission, Harrison / Harrison Mills are ice free? Getting anxious to start fishing some nearby lakes. It'll save me a trip out there this weekend if they are still frozen.

It is safe to assume lakes with elevation of up to 200m in Fraser Valley are ice free. When browsing lake details from the Trip Planner you should look for climate data for those lakes (bottom of the page). This is how you can quickly determine the ice-off time (as well as summer doldrums, ice-on and even hatch times).

Thanks Alex. Good to hear there's no ice on those lakes in that region. I just saw an earlier post regarding Weaver Lake and that it is still iced over. Needless to say, this was a bit disappointing since I'm dying to get out. By the way, I am really impressed with this website. Never, have I joined a web-based club or group, but this site is so good, it's making me think twice.

Charts show you daytime temperature. So if it is 5 degrees, it means it is probably covered with ice. If it is 10 - sure enough, no ice (depends on how long the temperature was below 5 C).
Real good hatch starts at 12-13C daytime temp.

Yak, dry fly fishing would be great. Honestly, right now, I'll settle for any kind of fly fishing.
