Author Topic: Changing your membership password?
Ozzy

Good morning to all,

I'm new on this forum and I hope that this question hasn't been posted already. Does anyone know how to change their login password? I would search the forum ... but their search functions are kind of limited on this site.

Thanks to all in advance,
Oz

I thing you have to be a paying member to change your profile.I am also new here.

fish on,

Thanks for the advice, but I just purchased a membership this morning at like 4:30 am and have been LOVING this website since. I am logged in as a member, but nowhere can I find the place to change my password (not even in the "My Account" area.

Still looking and waiting ... waiting and looking (wait a minute ... this is starting to feel like fishing )

I should also mention that I have emailed support, but no answer yet ... will probably have to wait until the morning fishing is over (lol). But, I'll get to peruse today's fishing reports in meantime.

Ozzy, hi!

You are right, you cannot change the password via My Account page. I'll add this to our to do list
fish on

Then can you sign in as a mew member and not use your old one?
Ozzy

fish on,

I had considered that, but I didn't want to burden the admin of the site with a transfer of my paid membership. Plus, I'm not sure of their CGI/PERL/C/C++/ASP/.NET program that creates new member logins ... it may be that their new member program does a check to ensure that the email address is unique (in which case I am screwed ... I only have 1 email .... unless they work to change that ... which would mean I'm starting to be a pain in *** for them). Well, that’s how I would have programmed the new member page anyway. It may be quicker and easier (and less of burden) to just wait it until the “change password” option is added to the “My Account” page … usually easier anyway (albeit … it does take talent to keep the change password transaction secure in the process). Fish on, don’t worry it dude. I'm still poking around in the fishing reports ... so I'm quite happy. Thanks for you concern though … it’s good to see that I joined a club where the members actually look out for one another. Now I’m just carrying on … not enough sleep … need to inject coffee and go fishing soon.

ttyl for now,
Oz
