Chum fry are starting to show in the Harrison River, cought one Cutthroat last week on a minnow patern fly fishing, midges and stoneflies were hatching and the fish were taking one of them off the surface of the river, lots of risers when you do find where the are hidding. With the sun out expect some great hatches which will cause a fish feeding frenzy!

I got different waterways and lakes, the harrison river was not there, when i did a search on cutthroat, all destinations within 100 km. I there anything i missed? Is detailed info name of the lakes/rivers where Cutthroat hold?
Thanks Alex!!!
Alex

Kilby Park is certainly further then 100 km from Vancouver.

The best fishing for cutthroat trout is between Harrison and Herling Island. You should focus on slow and backwaters.

Good places are:

Kilby Park (Harrison), you may also try the Hwy 7 bridge, but a boat is recommended to fish on the drop off
Johnsons Slough
Maria Slough Bridge
Mountain Slough
Cheam Slough
Hunter Creek
Jones Creek
Cattermole Slough

Generally, cutthroat is active on the surface (even when chasing eggs or fry). You may scout known places and spend 10 minutes to learn if the fish is there.

If you are fly fishing, try rolled muddler, wooly bugger or mickey fin.

Some people try to match the hatch, but this requires good knowledge on entomology. Which is fun by itself.

Alex

Just don't limit your search with 100km distance.
