kelso

Where do you live? Do you have heavier gear? 10 to 13 ft rod with 15lb mainline and a 8 to 10 lb leader Go to the website steelhead university and study you have a couple of monthe until things heat up on the rivers.

kelso

taureandragon76

I live in Ridge too, love the fact that I can drive 5 mins down the road and be fishing in natural waters.
Hi Speed

your right maple ridge is a great place to live play and fish
taureandragon76

I lived in Surrey most of my life and have only been out here for a year and a half now and have no plans to leave Ridge absolutely love it out here. Where else in the GVRD can you hike, camp, fish, boat etc in your backyard.
cagey

you guys should have lived there 50 years ago! (or 60 in my case).
things have changed a lot. can you imagine walking along lougheed hwy from 224th street to the haney hotel with a shotgun under your arm. i did it many times when i was around 20 yrs od and noone would say a thing. i would even stop by the corner store for a pop, all the time carrying my gun. noone cared. imagine now.
i hunted pheasants from 222nd to laity, between lougheed and vernon. it was all one big field. can you imagine doing that now. and the fishing. allouette used to have a strong steelhead run, not to mention coho and chum. those were the days!
i know kelso has fished out at the polder for bass. they were not there in my time but we sure had a lot of fun out there.
all kinds of wild life out there incl seals! enough dreaming.
unfortunately the haney i knew is long gone ! and they call it progress!!
imagine how my grandfather would feel. he settled in haney in 1880 !
Hi Speed

you will probable know the answer to this did people ride horses to the haney hotel back in those days
cagey

never saw one ! the horses were always down 232 nd ave / 216 th street area even when i was a small kid (60 now ).
