I have never been there before and wondering if the shore fishing is any good as I have no access to anything that will get me out on the water. If it is good from shore just wondering what tends to work best worm under a float or bottom fishing and what bait? Looking to take my 8year old son there and hope to get him to land his first fish. Also I am wondering just how much of a zoo it can be there, I am more than willing to go in the rain if it means less people.

i have caught many bottom fishing. I normally use powerbait. Works all the time, however deli shrimp works best. Throw it in and wait. you will get a bite.

never been ther but from all the posts i have read over the last 10 years i suspect it is a perfect place to take your 8 year old. let all the fathers/grandpa's know how it works out...........seems power bait or good old worm will catch his first fish. enjoy the occasion and take lots of pictures!

Will do, he got himself grounded for a week which sucks because I was gonna take him on Monday, but we will have to see if I can get him off early for good behavior lol.
