Author Topic: How do you prevent line twist with spinners

So last year i started using a mepps #2 aglia spinner blade in lakes such as mill lake (trout fishing) and one problem i had was that my line would get badly twisted. I used spin casting reel and 10 lb100% flurocarbon line (which i havent been a fan of recently). Is there a trick to not getting twisted? I found adding a worm to it gave much more bites too.

bait caster and spin caster have 2 ways to put line on to prevent line twist. spin caster/knuckle buster take spool and face the end towards you. not the line facing you. so you want the line to come off the roll sideways and for the line to drop down to the rt side of spool for it to go on right for 99% of that style reel.
baitcaster face line towards you coming off the top of spool to the reel.
basicaly your putting the line on the reel the same direction it was spooled to the new roll.

Thanks for tips. Went yesterday and tried retrieving really slow and had no problem until the end when i retrieved faster.
