Wondering here if anyone uses a fly fishing vest instead of a tackle box and if there is any advice about which vest to get. I mainly fish out of a boat.

Any help would be appreciated.

I fly fish pretty much 99.9% of the time, and for me, I love Fishpond USA products. Yes, they are a bit pricey, but for aesthetics, workmanship, and design/functionality/performance, I honetly feel they are the best. You can get any regular vest for whatever price, but the concepts and ideas that you get with Fishpond are brilliant.
They are a bit pricey, yes, but I don't mind paying that for their quality, as well as for built-in drop down fly trays, pockets galore, expandable compartments, etc, you really only need one pack and you're set. I do a lot of beach fly fishing for coho and cutties, so for me, being able to go bare-bones with the chest/backpack combo, nothing compares.
You can get them at stores, or if you look around, you can usually find them on forums/classifies for around $5o less than retail for lightly used ones.

Thank you Louis for your info. I have checked out ebay and fishpond, mailing charges will add $30 or so, but my local store has the Gore and Sagebrush range. I will check these out today. Do you have experience of these. Which one do you prefer.
