Had a good day of Dolly fishing on the lake. My son and I caught 5 in about 5>6 hours. Not too big !3.5" to 19". Giving it another go in the next few days after my sons Sunburn cools down a bit. He didn't use the sun tan lotion we had on his face(A word to the wise).

What do you use for the dollies???

Friendly reminder, you are only allowed one char making it a combined limit of 4 trout/char from Chilliwack lake.

Personally...... would like to see these fish being released... don't see as many around as i used to and such a beautiful species. My own opinion tho.

We just caught our first Dolly recently too, they are very striking fish. From what I have heard and observed in our case, they go after similar things that Rainbows do. We caught ours at a slightly higher rate of speed while decelerating. We were at Sugar Lake, near Vernon though, not in the valley.

We only kept these 2 fish. Bigger Dollies are meat eaters and will feed on smaller fish worms etc. Keep in mind you can't use minnows or any part of a fish as bait so lures imitating their natural food are a good bet. Try some scents on your bait as well. A buddies lady caught a nice 6lber the same day near Clearwater B.C..Unfortunately I couldn't get the picture to copy properly onto my computer
