i'm looking to take my 3 year old daughter camping and fishing i have a inflatable with electric motor i'm in vancouver and can drive any distance any suggestions would be helpful somewhere thats not to close to dad use to take me to foley lake in the 80's can a car make it there i drive my car like a 4x4 or any info on the lake.thanks

you can get to foley lake by car.I used to take my VW scorocco up there

and hows the fishing up there i remember the lake being full of stumps and old trees is it safe for an inflatable and hows the campsite

deer lake in harrison is a good place for takin the kids lots of little hungry cutties in there, it'll keep them entertained all day long. has good campsites with a beach and grass area to play.

i would recomend grace or deer lake there both nice and small with healthy fish populations, both have free camping till may long weekend rightnow aswell.

is there somewhere to get firewood at deer lake or near there

thanks for all the info my daughter and i will be heading to deer lake later this week lets hope for sunshine

Sounds like you'll be getting it!!!!

Have fun be careful and TIGHT LINES

tight lines to ya.

am still unknown on where to find fire wood close to deer lake any help would be greatly appreciated i only have a car that's loaded with a boat and camping equipment i would have to unload and then get wood so somewhere near harrison would be ideal thanks

I believe there are a few firewood places on the way into Harrison from the freeway, just keep an eye open. I imagine a parks employee won't be around before May 1, but they normally sell the best wood at the best price. Stay away from the gas station bundles, as it is usually kiln dried, and burns faster than paper. If you don't see firewood signs on the way in, there are a few RV campsites on the way in that will have some. It will likely be over priced, and maybe even a bit damp, so make sure you have a good look at it before you buy it.

thanks to everybody who responded we had a awesome time we fished about 2hrs each day lots of action she was'nt that into fishing but she sure loved putting them back into the lake
