Is it legal? Less busy? The sox aren't biting so it should still work.

Night fishing all over BC is illegal
katfish

I didn't believe it was illegal because you are not using light. http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/fw/fish/regulations/docs/1011/ProvincialRegulations_page9.pdf

I agree there are safety issues to consider with night fishing on the Fraser -- a life vest might come in handy!

You can fish on the fraser 1 hour before sunrise and 1 hour after sunset
Is in the regs.

You can fish for Sturgeon all night long in the Fraser, but flossing salmon at night is illegal.
Davis

With the amount of people camping on the Fraser this weekend. I would not be surprised if some are flossing at night.
Jeep'n'fish

Salmon fishing is daylight hours only, not an hour before and after.
Fraser River
All Jul 01-Dec 31 Daylight hours only.

I WAS CAMPING THERE LAST WEEKEND AND THERE WERE PEOPLE FISHING ALL NIGHT. THEY WERE CATCHING EM LIKE CRAZY. WHEN PEOPLE GOT THERE IN THE MORNING THEY TOLD THEM THAT IT WAS TOO EARLY TO START FISHING WHEN IN REALITY THEY HADNT EVEN STOPPED FROM THE NIGHT BEFORE
Jeep'n'fish

My mistake Fisheries defines daylight hours and an hour before or after sunrise/ sunset.
katfish

Yes, it appears that is the case. Thanks Jeep n Fish. I'll keep my sockeye fishing to daylight hours!
Davis

Probally they dont allow flossing at night is because D.F.O only works during day light hrs.
pinhead2010

it was brought into effect several years ago to deter people from fishing at 11pm at night, catching two, and then starting at 12:01am, getting two more and going home.

you will notice that the flossing is always better at night/early hours because the sockeye move in closer and some will hold on some bars
