I have one which I use for steelhead and salmon (softer model rod). I really like it.

The shimano convergance is a good rod to get started with, but its very stiff. It doesn't have much of an arc its length. I started with that rod and my buddy would bug me that it made a 20lb steely look like a 10lber. He's got nothing better to do than build 11 ft SAGE drift rods all the time. I use a st. Croix now and I can say that its a big difference, I've got 8 rods now and that's my fav. Smelly.
