wounding if u could float fish with a flie. like the float then the weight then at the bottom is the fles its just like and other type of float fishing but instead of using roe i was wounding if u could use a flie

I've tried using a fly and float and caught some rainbows with this method, I didn't attach weight though, I just used a heavy float

yeah for sure you can and i`d rather than just a piece of wool works for me

i use a jig, pink, purple, weighted bead head. works great out at the stave river

Yes you absolutely can. I used this method for years until I went to all out fly-fishing.I still use this method whenever I fish a lake where water craft are prohibited and there is no room to back-cast your fly gear.You can use just a bobber to simulate a dry fly line retrieve or use a weight to simulate wet fly line retrieve.You can also simply dangle whatever(usually a leech or chironomid pattern)underneath your bobber.
