Author Topic: ocean or river?

going to vancouver for 3 days. My husband is a steelhead fisherman on the Rogue River. This is a surprise for him. Should I take him on a fishing trip in the ocean (for something different) or a river trip. We will be there the middle of October, staying in Vancouver the whole time. Can you suggest a fishing company for a charter? If you suggest river fishing, I really don't want to go more than an hour from Vancouver. Thanks so much!

Right now is the salmon season.
I would suggestion and recommend you bring him for salmon fishing now. For example Vedder River. Its really worth for you guys to check it out. You can see lots fish jumping around in the water and lots people fishing there. You don't really need a fishing guide. chilliwack vedder river.

I would avoid the Vedder River gong show! Unless he likes fishing with several hundered other guys beside him. Go to and April will set you up with a good trip or recommend someone else. If you want to escape for a few days he could book a trip out to the Upper Pitt River and stay at the lodge. Good luck and I hope you enjoy your time here.
