I was just wondering what to use for catching walleye, since I might go fishing for them.

Where are you going to fish walleye, storm soft lures have always worked for me.

worm harness with worms or leaches, 5 of Diamonds spoon (yellow with black dots), jigs tipped with minnows (or almost any kind of bait), trolling with chicken gizzards, Mepps "Black Fury" spinners, and there's a whole bunch of other lures/baits you can use but it would take me all day to list them all. Early morning and evening (just before the sun goes down (from 7pm and on) are the best times to catch them. They are very light biters - they really like to nibble at your presentation, so its a good idea to let them take the entire bait before you set the hook. They're one of the best tasting fish - good luck man!

In BC you CANNOT use fin fish or any part as bait. ASSHOLES using minnows is how shinners get spread all around the province. Storm soft lures work wonders for walleye where i fish them. I limit out every time i go.

are you calling me an asshole? how do you know he's going to fish for walleye in BC? I was giving him advice on how to fish for walleye in general. Don't be so quick to make judgments jackass!
Matt99

yes it is in bc

I used to catch Walleye at Charlie Lake when Ilived in Fort St. John and they are actually very good eating. I hear there are some in the Columbia river but other than some lakes/rivers in the Peace and the Columbia river i do not know where else you can catch them off hand.

I just hope they do not start showing up around here. Perch are causing problems in some lakes from illegal stockings..

So man in a bra are YOU in BC if so my opinion stands. You DO NOT recommend to use of fin fish for bait if you do not know where the poster is and the area they are going to fish.
