Topic: Camp along the Vedder? |

Does anyone know of any good spots along the Vedder River where I could go with my small RV and camp for two nights this weekend? I have been to the Vedder a few times but I cant recall a good spot. I know some of you guys fish it allot. Im not planning on fishing the whole time, just relaxing near the water with a fire with my family. Preferably middle to lower river without allot of people.
If someone could send me some info and maybe a google earth shot that would be great. Im heading out there this weekend for two nights and I would appreciate some advice rather than be driving around for hours not knowing where to go.
Thanks

The Vedder does not open again until July 1...

Yah, you'd be hard pressed to find any decent river to fish before July 1st.
So.. since you can't fish anyways, might i suggest going up-river a bit. There's a few spots nestled in the trees a few K past the hatchery. I've taken my family up there and we've enjoyed it. A lot nicer than parking on the side of the road.. for sure!

Sounds good. Is the river calm enough up there to enjoy or is it all rapids?

It's from an Outdoor Map Book. I'll see if I can get a bigger version of it.

As for the river.. yah. There won't be much opportunity for having much water fun. The river is fast-flowing and extremely dangerous.
Another nice place to camp is on Foley Creek. There's a couple nice spots that are right on the water. Seems there's almost always someone there but who knows.. it's worth a look-see. The spots are only about 10 mins off the main road. AND.. from there, you can take the kids up to Foley lake. It's a quick drive. Plenty of good little fish for the kids to catch using bait. Not a bad little waterfall too!

I second Foley Lake area. There's no rv camping at the lake, but it's a beautiful lake to fish at.
