I would like to troll the lake with an inflatable with electric motor. It's a big lake and i'm concerned about windy condition; how bad can a windy day be there ?

Bad. Blow you the wrong way bad. Don't go on bad days, stick close to shore if you get caught, you'll be ok.......

Be careful out there as there are allot of stumps in the lake slightly submerged. You may rip into one if your not careful. The wind will blow your around also. Go on sunnier days if you can. The lake gets very choppy too and its very hard to fish with those conditions.

ty! i'l take it easy!
my battery gives me about 20km of trolling, and the paddles all day long
i have two options for more power:
to install a sailing kit and use the wind power (this can be very fun)
a 3-4hp gas motor - how much speed such a motor gives ?

I've been out on Alouette once so far with no luck but I'm keen to go back. Trolling various lures and troll-rigs although my out board was not running well so I think we were going a bit fast. Has anyone got any more tips/tricks they are willing to share? (thanks MrGrey1 for the pointer re: the buoys). I'm just getting into fishing with my 6 yr old son and would certainly like to hook something to keep him interested. I appreciate Alouettte is not the easiest lake to fish but it's nice size and not too far a drive for a day-trip. Also considering going up to Kawkawa as I've been reading it's a great spot for Kokanees (which I have a bit of experience fishing up near 100-Mile).

It could be bad If you don't pay attention to where your motor facing and how fast the wind is blowing you around.
