Non-Tidal Fraser

Please note: Effective October the 7th, 2008 the bait ban lifts on the Fraser River .

The following fisheries restrictions are enforced to protect endangered upper Fraser and Thompson coho.

Effective September 4- until Monday October 6, in the non-tidal portion of the Fraser River, from the Cpr bridge at Mission, upstream to a line drawn between two triangular white boundary signs located on opposite sides of the Fraser approximately 3 km upstream of the confluence with the Harrison river (downstream of Jesperson's Bar)You may not fish for coho salmon, you may not fish for sockeye salmon and you may not use bait when fishing for salmon.

You may however fish for Chinook and Chum Salmon , but you may not use bait, until October the 7th.

Chinook daily limit is 4 per day - only 1 may be over 62 cm.

Chum daily limit us 2 per day

Aggregate total for Salmon is 4 .

hope this is helpful. And of course jack coho can be kept but any jack above 30cm is considered an adult.

i don't fish that bar much but a few of the oldtimers are catching bulltrout and a few jacks (spring and coho ) on the incoming tide. just bring lots of roe to that bar because of the course fish nibbling at it. Water clarity is excellent though.

PS. theres always a few "punks" hanging around the parking lot area so don't leave any valuables in the car.
