Author Topic: 30,000+ Atlantic salmon escaped into BC waters

Tens of thousands of farmed Atlantic salmon escaped from their pen into an inlet off the B.C. coast

The Globe and Mail, 03 Jul 2008, Page A3
Escaped salmon pose threat to wild stock

That's pretty brutal as on the East coast no other kind of salmon left. Atlantic salmon wipes every other kind of salmon.

Before you read the following quote, please sit down:

Mr. Backman (Marine Harvest environmental compliance director Clare Backman) also said the escaped fish would be safe for people to eat if they catch one.

“They should keep the fish, clean it and bake in a 400-degree oven with a ginger and green-onion garnish. Then serve with fresh lemon slices..."

BTW, almost all fish farms in Canada are owned by foreginers! Hence the attitude to our nature :-(
