Author Topic: Interior lakes

Has anyone been up to any of the Interior lakes in the Merritt area? Kane,Ludbom,Peter Hope, Nicola etc? May go up next week for a few days off. Last year we have a week of 35+ so the fishing was off but if you tossing your line into green soup it was great.Hoping with the cooler start to summer, excluding the one hot week that the fish will be on the move.

I've been to Glimpse Lake in the last couple of weeks. Fishing is really good in all those areas right now but as you say, if the hot weather comes quickly the fishing will drop off quickly.

PLEASE STAY COOL FOR 10 more days. Any other lake producing guys?

all the interior lakes , it's pretty much the peak of the interior until fall. any lake that has a decent population of fish would do well as they feed agressively and get fat.

A buddy of mine was up at Thalia last week. He and 6 of his buddies went out for 3 days and hit the water HARD. All of them are very experienced flyfishers with 15+ years of flyfishing and they ALL got skunked.

I was up at Knouff/Badger/Community 2 weeks back with 4 others and we did VERY well. We all caught around 30 fish each at the three lakes over 3 days.

Well I had a fantastic 4 out of 5 days fishing. We ended up on going to Nicola Lake. Lots of wind as expected but yesterday was the best with no wind. The Kokanee fishing was Hot! We hit a few nice size rainbows in the 3-4 pound mark. The trip brought back some great memories of fishing with my grandfather. The pine beetle sure is destroying the tree's. I think there is double the amount our cabins and dead tree's around the lake compared to last year. Can't wait till my son is old enough to hold a fishing rod.

yeah the area up by knouff has some nice lakes. Community lake is beautiful! It's great when you get in one of the clear, deep holes and you can watch the fish take your fly below water!

Community is one of my top 5 lakes in the Province, the thing at Community is that the water is so clear and even the best laid cast can spook these fish. The lake holds some BIG fish, to 8lbs and you can get very frustrated watching them crusing the flats and ignoring everything you send there way.
