I am looking at going to Weaver lake this weekend, I am new to BC and am not really sure were to go, I am looking for a Lake that is within a couple hours of Vancouver that you can go to and catch alot of fish. THey don't have to be big, I am just going for some fun. I have a boat and will be fishing with a spinning rod.

Hey and welcome to BC! First off, I wouldn't go to Weaver this weekend as it tends to be quite a party place. But if you don't mind that, there is come good fishing in there. Make sure you have a 4x4 to get up there as the last part is steep However, I have seen a couple cars do it... Anyways, if you do go to Weaver, I've always found wedding bands with a chunk of worm attached seems to do the trick and you don't have to go far from the boat launch. You will see a narrow point straight up from the launch, stay around there and you should get some fish. As for other lakes, Rolley Lake near Mission always produces fish but it could be quite busy with the campsite nearby. Some lakes near Harrison such as Wood and Sunrise lakes always do well this time of year but those probably aren't great for a first timer. So for the best fishing, I recommend trying out some lakes near Merrit. Its about a 3 hour drive with many lakes to choose from in the area, most of which are doing quite well right now. If you have anymore questions, just ask!
