Author Topic: Osprey & Link Lakes (Princeton) Update

The lake is warming up nicely, 46F now so more hatches are happening. Cronnies (black body with silver ribbing & white head are hot!)

Many fish in the 17 to 19 inch range.

The lake has completed it turn for this spring with no fish kill and is clearing up so all is good.

Keep that tip up and reel them in!

I have been to Osprey a couple of times and I am heading back at the beginning of June. I have caught fish just by trolling a croc, however I have never caught a fish bigger than 12". I have never fly fished, but I am considering getting into it. Any tips or info would be great, thankyou.

Bruce, what was the 8 pounder caught on? and where abouts in the lake??
Sounds as though fishing is good....may have to make a visit...!!!

Hey Gman, if you are going to troll hardware I would use a size 7 flat fish, either froggy color (green with black spots) or yellow with red spots. Bingo bugs also will work well.

Fish in the narrows (if there are not too many crony fisherman) to the east towards the foresty campgroud. There is a shoal that comes up in the middle so just on the west side of that where is goes to 30 feet.

Good luck and keep in touch when you are up here.
