Author Topic: Kamloops area, June 18th

My wife and I will be in the Kamloops area about June 18th and would like to spend a week fishing the lakes in the area. Could someone suggest a few lakes we could visit to maximize our fishing time. We will be travelling by motorhome and use a small inflateable with electric and tubes. All replies appreciated.

The Kammloops area is a great place to fish.

In a motorhome the lake choices do go down but here are a few.

1-Tunkwa
2-Roche
3-Salmon
4-Knouff

All the lakes listed have hook ups and are good for fishing, the first 3 being better in the fishing department. As for other lakes in the area, all the lakes I have listed have many smaller lakes close by for you to check out, but may be a little difficult to get to with just a Motorhome.

If you want more accurate information give me a call and I can point you in the right direction. I am a guide and Flyfishing instructor so I can give you some pointers that I would rather not post as they are some of my favorite lakes in the area.

i havent tried knouff lake but i know how to get there and i wanted to know wat the fish are like if it is accessable

Knouff is a tough lake to fish. There are some HUGE fish in it but I would say they are 1/2-1-1/2 lb average.

There are better lakes in the general area, when I go up I use Knouff as a base camp and hit Badger,Spoony, and Community lakes.

As for what to use, It depends on the time of year and what Bugs are hatching. Usual interior flies work well.
