Looking for a few places locally where there is decent trout fishing, don't have a boat yet (soon) but until then im stuck on the shore. Mostly be flyfishing but a little baitcasting also, I heard someone mention Cable pool on the cap, is it any good around now? Is the Vedder worth fishing?

Thanks,

Dan

Without a boat you really have no chance of a good day fishing (lakes that is) so I suggest you get one fast.
I always go to Buntzen Lake and have a good time trolling a wet fly. Good sized trout in there around 14" - 18".

yah, def need a boat, but to go with the boat I need a truck, as soon as I can track down a nice dodge with the I-6 cummins in it, ill get a boat to go along with it. Would an electric motor be ok for most local lakes or do I need to step up to something more substantial?.

Electric is all you need! Take Bunzten for instance. Its a "No Power Boats" lake so an electric is perfect. If you get good at it, then buy a motor and hit the Allouete or Pitt. I havent used my gas motor in over a year.

hey indesicive,
were you using a spinner or bobber?
i think i might've seen you there,
i was the kid + dad fishing steely's and coho,
anyways cap is in perfect shape just no fish. saw one rise and thats it, had a hit and left to the chinook loop hole
oops, didn't see that you were going tommorrow, thought you already went, anyways don't think there is many trout in there just mostly steelhead and be careful about the regs that you can't fish above cable pool bridge
