I'm not so sure it'll be accessable yet. I was thinking of going there the other day but went up Harrison instead. Jones is way higher than that and we still hit snow. If you do go, let us know the conditions eh? I'm eager to getting up there.

I was at Lindeman Lake on April 21st and there wasn't any traces of snow and that's at 800m+. I don't think you'll have any problems at Jones as far as access is concerned. Last year I tried worms and several flies, and had good results with both. Find em trolling the depths and fly fishing near the mouth of any river going into the lake.

I caught this at Jones Lake on April 28th at 8pm. This was caught from the shore of the day use area right where the mouth of the river is. I used a water bobber and worm. 53cm Brook Trout, and within 15 minutes too! What an awesome camping trip!!!!

That doesnt look like a Brook Trout to me. In fact it looks like a Bull Trout.

but... there are no Brookies or Bull Trout in Jones Lake. There are only Cutthroat Kokanee and rainbows. So either you are lieing or caught a freak of nature looking Cutthroat.

Nice catch on those tim-bits.
That is a pretty big fish to be caught from shore. Nice work. That other little guy lived a short life though.

Actually, I caught a small Dolly out of Jones last year in Sept, suprised the hell outta me when I saw it coming up to the boat, had a good chuckle and released it, so maybe Hydro is putting a little more variety in there.
bass master 99

looks like a cutty to me,
they can get pretty big in there

it's definately a cutty. i have one concern about the small fish - regs state that fish must be over 40 cm or 16 inches to be kept from jones lake. which seems to make that a picture of an ILLEGAL CATCH!!

16" from fork to mouth, so maybe it had a long head?
