What is your opinion on it?? If it were to be placed in, Madden, Sawmill, Bear, Kilpoola and alot more would cost money to fish in! You couldn't pack a lunch and go have a hike and picnic up there. Quading and dirt biking would be way out of the picture. So what do think about it??

Why couldn't you pack a lunch have a hike and a picnic? Isn't that what parks are for? Or am I missing something?

It would cost money to park your vehicle, then you might have to pay to go on the land. It's unknown on exactly what the regulations will be. There have been a few meetings at community halls in the surrounding area. Don't get me wrong, I am a conservationist, but I just don't want to see my back yard turned into something that's just used to make money.

national parks are definately a cash grab. i dont feel they protect the areas they are established in either. in many cases they atract much more in the way of use than there would ever have been. although it does keep development away. national parks are not designed for citizens, they're built for international tourists.......

exactly! I'm glad to hear that there are people out there that are willing to voice there strong opinions. I just hope that the park never happens. There's just things that I want to keep doing like quading. It's just too bad that sometimes we get a bad name because of the one guy that screws it up for the rest of us by doing dumb shit. Loose cattle and horses make more of a mess than anything up there. They get loose then wreck the land, and the fresh water. I'm not sure when the meetings are, but try to get out to them if you live in the Okanagan and still want to play in your backyard.

Ahhh yes. Now I remember... National Park...Ca$h for entrance to the park, Ca$h to park in the park, Ca$h for a park fishing license on top of the ca$h for a regular license so we can fish in the park, Ca$h to camp in the park, Ca$h for firewood in the park.....and the list goes on. But think of the benifits... You won't have to carry that heavy wallet around with you when you go fishing.
mcs

yup......it's pretty much bullshit. I live in Oliver and if anyone of you guys are around here, I'd appreciate it if you could take the time to come to one of the meetings if they're going to have anymore in the future. If I hear of any, I'll be sure to post the date, place and time.
